Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea effectively ended the Gunners’ title charge and it looks like they will have to settle for a top four spot, however, they will be keen to finish second in the league after years of sneaking into fourth place. Hull City’s surprise win against Liverpool on Tuesday night has given the Tigers a four point buffer from the relegation zone, although they have by far the toughest run in of all of the bottom sides and Steve Bruce’s side aren’t out of the woods yet.
Back to back wins against Crystal Palace and Liverpool have put them in this position and they will certainly be up for it against Arsenal in what is a repeat of last year’s FA Cup final. The Gunners won 3-2 on that occasion after going 2-0 down early on and Arsene Wenger’s side will be expected to win once again as the two sides meet at the KC Stadium on Monday evening.
Arsenal represent a much tougher challenge to Hull than a slightly out of sorts Liverpool and with eight wins and one draw (against Chelsea) in their last nine league matches, Wenger’s outfit will certainly be full of confidence. Mikel Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may well make their return to the match-day squad after a spell on the sidelines through injury. Mohamed Diame and Andrew Robertson return for Hull although Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic is likely to miss out with a knee injury which he picked up in the 0-0 draw with Leicester back on the 14th March.
With eight defeats and only one draw in their last nine meetings with Arsenal, form is very much against Hull; however, with the momentum that two wins gives a side this game looks like it will be tighter than expected.
Arsenal v Hull City Betting Tips
- Arsenal to win – We’re backing the Londoners to pick up all three points and extend their unbeaten run in the league to 10 matches. They have been on an excellent run of form and their record against Hull is superb and at good odds of 7/10 with BetVictor we can’t see anything but an away win.
- Olivier Giroud to score first – The big Frenchman has reaped the benefits of playing in front of a talented midfield trio of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez this season and with a supply line like that, we’re backing him to open the scoring at 15/4 with BetVictor.
- Dame N’Doye to score at anytime – The Senegalese striker has popped up with some important goals, including a brace which gave the Tigers the win over Palace recently. A big physical presence, he can trouble the Arsenal defence and is 14/5 with BetVictor to hit the back of the net.
- Arsenal to win by two goals – Two out of the last four meetings have seen Arsenal win by two goals and with the form they’re in it wouldn’t surprise us if they put a few past Hull and you can back them to win by two at 9/2 with BetVictor.
