Juventus v Real Madrid Betting Tips – 5th May 2015

Real will have been pleased to draw what is the weakest team left in the competition and they are now favourites to go on and lift the trophy overall. However, that would be doing something of a disservice to Juve who have only been beaten once at home in 55 European matches.

The Old Lady have beaten Borussia Dortmund and Monaco to reach this stage whilst Real Madrid survived a scare against Schalke and just edged past rivals Atletico Madrid to set up what is a repeat of the 2003 Champions League semi final. Gianluigi Buffon and Iker Casillas are the only survivors from a clash which saw Juve advance to the final after winning 4-3 on aggregate.

For Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, there is a lot more at stake than just a final appearance as his side prepares to do battle with the club that sacked him at half time during their final league game of the season despite the fact that the Bianconeri still could’ve won the title. Similarly, Alvaro Morata will feel like he has a point to prove as he lines up against the side who sold him at the end of last season, despite the 22-year-old playing in the Champions League final.

Whilst Madrid do, without doubt, have a better team on paper, they do have the disadvantage of being embroiled in a battle for domestic success, with Barcelona still narrowly ahead of them in La Liga. Juve meanwhile have the title all but sewn up, holding a 14 point lead over second placed Lazio with only five matches left to play.

Juventus v Real Madrid Betting Tips

  • Match to end in a draw – As we already mentioned, Massimiliano Allegri’s side have a near perfect record at home in Europe and they are a tough nut to crack. With Madrid losing every semi final tie they have played against Italian opposition, they would perhaps be happy to take a draw, which can be backed at odds of 23/10 with Bet365, back to the Bernabeu.
  • Match to feature under 2.5 goals – Both of these sides’ quarter finals ended 1-0 on aggregate and Juve are hardly big scorers in this competition. We definitely feel like the two defences will be on top for this clash with a low scoring game available at 4/6 with Ladbrokes.
  • Both teams to score – Whilst we think that it will be a low scoring game we fancy both sides to hit the back of the net with Real blessed with a wealth of attacking talent and Juve featuring an in-form Carlos Tevez and you can back both sides to hit the back of the net at 21/20 with Betfair.
  • Match to end 1-1 – If the 23/10 on a draw isn’t good enough then you can back a 1-1 draw at odds of 6/1 with BetVictor, a result which would give Real a vital away goal.
